Dr. Rouzbeh Tehrani is a former engineering faculty member at Temple University, an R1 research university in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In January 2022, he received a $200,000, one-year commercialization award to advance nano-adsorbent slurry technologies for personalized, precision hemodialysis and blood-purification treatments, an example of his success and sustained interest in translating scientific innovation into practical, commercial solutions.
Dr. Rouzbeh Tehrani’s research has focused on fluid purification and advanced separation technologies. During his time at Temple University, he contributed to five patent applications related to fluid-purification materials, devices, and methods. Dr. Rouzbeh Tehrani has also conducted research on phytoextraction of critical and strategic elements from acidic electronic-waste leachates. His work includes early research on incorporating rare-earth elements into biosynthesized graphitic materials, advancing new pathways for recovering and upcycling valuable elements from waste streams.
